Gimme A Break With Nina B & KY

Welcome to the new edition of “Gimme A Break.”  In case your not familiar with it, this is where we have two up and coming artists on the show and chronical there struggles while trying to make it big in the music industry. The two artists we chose to follow are Nina B and KY.

In this first clip, the both introduce themselves. Nina B talks about being an independant artist and hosting a tv show called “Video City.” She said one of her biggest accomplishments is hearing her song being played on the radio. KY talks about opening up shows for Talib Kweli and Common.  He said he’s constantly on the grind and works as a social worker and a probation officer.

In this second clip, we get more into Nina B’s business.  She talks about her plans for the future and when she plans on releasing her album.  She also talks about her personal life and past relationships.

In this next clip, we talk to KY some more. He’s from Philly. He has a two year old son and works two jobs to take care of him, on top of recording and making music.  He said his ultimate goal is to inspire people and make great music.

In this final clip, the listeners called up to give their feedback about KY’s song “Gimmick.”  Emoticon gave them some tips and advice on some thing’s they should be looking out for over the next couple of weeks.
